Online Psychiatry
Online psychiatry services, often known as 'telepsychiatry', allow you to speak with a psychiatrist from the convenience of your home. You can get a diagnosis, treatment and an official report to your GP.
A psychiatrist in private consultation will evaluate your condition and create a customized treatment plan. This could include medication or talking therapy.

The diagnosis of your Psychiatrist
Psychiatrists are trained medical professionals who specialize in mental health. They can prescribe medication and suggest additional investigations, such as a physical examination, and also offer therapy. They'll be able to evaluate your symptoms, your lifestyle and work habits, and take into account any family history of mental illness. Your psychiatrist will be able to identify the root cause and provide you with a treatment plan. This will usually include medication and therapy, as well as how to manage and prevent your symptoms if possible.
Your psychiatrist will want to be aware of your issues and previous treatments. They will ask you questions and listen to your story. They will give you the most likely diagnosis and talk with you about specialist treatments such as cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) or other forms of psychological therapy.
All psychiatrists have a duty of confidentiality towards their patients and will only divulge information to a third party if there is a risk to your health or life or in the case that you are attempting suicide or are experiencing extreme mental distress. Before discussing any aspect of your care with a third party, they will always seek your permission and include it in your notes on clinical care. This includes GPs and other medical professionals, your therapist, or even your family members and friends.
If you have a private medical insurance, a psychiatrist consultant can contact the insurance companies to arrange funding for both your examination and treatment. Our services are available to patients who don't have insurance. Our standard consultations allow you to speak with an GMC registered, private consultant psychiatrist for up to 50 minutes. You can make an appointment in person at a clinic or through a secure video connection from the comfort of office or home, via telephone, or via email.
In most instances your psychiatrist will want to keep an eye on your psychiatric condition and prescribe your medication, as well as arranging regular follow-up appointments with you. This will be referred to as a shared-care agreement and all psychiatrists at Psychiatry-UK are willing to enter into this kind of arrangement with NHS doctors, where the medication is prescribed by your physician but the psychiatric consultation is conducted by your chosen psychiatrist.

Your psychiatrist will spend time gathering all the pertinent information regarding your health and wellbeing, including your past medical history and any current medications you are taking. They will also inquire about your personal life and any traumatic events that you've experienced. This information will be used to gain an accurate understanding of your condition and recommend a specialist course of treatment.

Your doctor will determine the most appropriate treatment for you, taking into account your objectives and preferences.
